Spot on assessment of the situation. That phrase “Of course, and kind of sadly” is saying so much with so few words. It is “of course” because cancelling has long strayed from being the last resort for the powerless to hold the powerful accountable to the mob seeking another pound of flesh to feed it’s self-righteous ego. It is “kind of sadly" because so few independent thinkers have mustered the courage to say “Enough! The victims have now grown so powerful that it is starting to behave like a predator.”

So I just want to underscore the sadness of the situation that you so accurately grasped and so delicately addressed. And add my voice, however insignificant, in the hope of engendering a ground swell against this folly.
